Designmap worked with English Heritage to secure HLF Stage 1 funding approval then delivered the full scheme under a design and build contract. The project is centred on an area of Dover Castle known as Admiralty Lookout and explored the Castle's importance during the First World War.
The exterior scheme included a firing WW1 era AA gun and sentry post, together with interpretive signage. Inside the building we created interactive room sets with integrated interpretation and a range of physical interactives exploring themes such as enemy craft spotting and morse code.
