Designmap worked closely with staff at the Cathedral to transform the gallery overlooking the nave from an inaccessible storage space
into a contemporary display area.
The new visitor attraction was designed to showcase some of the Cathedral’s finest works of art and priceless relics. Many of the ecclesiastical objects were still in use and had to be displayed in easily accessible yet secure showcases.
A key exhibit was the Cathedral Model - one of the finest models in the country. Designmap photographed the model interior during its restoration in order to create a digital guide to the internal architectural details which is accessible on an adjacent touch-screen interactive.
